Chapter Philanthropy

Chapter Philanthropy

Philanthropy is very near and dear to our hearts at Kappa. With the "Kappa Cares" initiative, individual chapters can choose to support whatever causes they are most passionate about. At Eta Iota, most of our philanthropic work is done through our national philanthropy partners, Reading Is Fundamental and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, as well as our local philanthropy partner, Conestoga Magnet School. Conestoga Magnet School serves children Kindergarten-Sixth Grade in North Omaha. Eta Iota serves Conestoga Magnet School through weekly reading sessions, a Family Literacy Night, and College Career Days.

Last year, we raised over $8,000 through our two main philanthropy events, and over $3,000 through Creighton's Relay for Life. Organizations that we donated money to this year include: Reading is Fundamental, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, Girls Inc., Conestoga Magnet School, and Autism Speaks.

Our signature philanthropy events include Kappa Klassic, our brand-new fall golf tournament during Parents Weekend, and Kappa Kupcakes, where members of our chapter sell and deliver cupcakes to students during one week in the spring.
